Bye Bye 2014!!!

So, it's the last day of what I would call a great year and I just wanted to share one last outfit with you before bracing for 2015 and whatever it may bring! :)

This is the perfect party dress for me and it may very well not surprise any of you when I say it came from The Whitepepper! :)

Polka Dot Obsession :)

And when I say obsession, I really mean it! :) I just cannot resist anything with polka dots on, and I especially couldn't resist this gorgeous The Whitepepper baby blue smock dress, which I had to have in black as well since they are half price and all! :)

So far Autumn has been mild and sunny and I have taken advantage to the fullest! :)

I first saw these Topshop crepe window pane cigarette trousers on fellow blogger Becca Rose and instantly fell in love! When I finally received them, I was over the moon to discover they are incredibly well done and the fabric is both crisp and stretchy, with strong black and white pattern.

I believe in happy endings! :)

Greys have become a bit of a theme lately, and this outfit is no exception! :)

Is it really last day of October?!? Wow!!!

So, it's Halloween tonight! :)

We're not doing anything, long hours at work this week but I promise myself next year will be different! :)

Knitwear Season

Every year, when the cold season comes around, I'm off on a hunt for the perfect knitted cardigan as this is an item I just can't get enough of until the Spring warms my cheeks again! :)

This year I am over the moon with my find, this amazingly beautiful and snuggly high collar long cardigan from Zara!

Colour me Rust! :)

One of the trends I absolutely love this Autumn is the colour combination between rust and forest green! I could not get enough of these two colours put together! :)

So, as you can tell, I've had these photos for a while :) but since that kind of weather is back around and I'm finding myself going for this outfit again, I thought it might be high time I write about it, too! :)

Dreaming of Knaresborough

A while ago, just before the Tour de France came to Yorkshire, hubby and I went for a day out in Knaresborough.

We were looking for a nice place we've not seen before to have a nice day out as the weather was dreamy and while researching on the internet hubby stumbled upon Knaresborough.

After an hours' drive, we pulled up into the parking space next to the police station and the first thing that took my breath away was the parking charge: just £1.60 for 4 hours!!!!! Absolutely unheard of!:)

After getting over that, we entered the gate to the castle and stopped to look around.

Casual all the Way :)

With the chill in the air, I'm clearly going through a phase of constantly wearing jeans! :)

And it's no surprise I can't keep away either as usually it's impossible for me to find a pair I feel comfortable enough to wear in public :), but I've been quite lucky of late to find amazing jeans and these are no exception!

Time to bring out the coats! :)

Since Summer is slowly slipping away, to my absolute delight  it's time to bring out the coats! :)

Kick starting the coat season is this checked grey beauty from Topshop, which besides ticking 2 of this AW season's best trends - greys and checks - it is also the perfect light, roll-your-sleeves-up kind of transitional coat we should all have in our wardrobes for days when the weather cannot quite decide which way to go.

Co-ordinated Love

Co-ordinates is a trend I adore but finding something that would suit my shape proved to be impossible during months of searching, until I stumbled upon this beauty in New Look.

The colours were what draw me in to begin with, as I thought they were perfect for Summer as well as for the transitional Autumn months, the fabric is easy to wear and the cut is perfect for my shape.

Had to get the blazer in a 10 and the shorts in a 12, but as always, I can definitely count on New Look sizes to suit me perfectly.

Black and White Love of My Life :)

I'm lucky enough  to live in between two amazing cities in North Yorkshire, York and Scarborough!

And as much as I love my little town, and I really do :), having the seaside under half hour away is always tempting when a day off happens to be happy and bright and inviting us to enjoy the last few days of Summer!

New Beginnings

So, it's been a while! :)

Quick catch up :) :

Attended my first official Crafts Fair and booked 3 more for November and December :), established relationships with a couple of my favorite bloggers, had a blast at the Scampston Does Vintage Festival - must go next year!!!!, so excited to have a little add on Briar Rose :), caught up on Season 2 of Arrow and thoroughly enjoyed first season of Penny Dreadful :), amazing news for 2 of my favorite bloggers who got engaged Becca and Carrie - congratulations!!!! :), booked next years' holiday to Rhodes - eeeeeek!! :)....

My birthday left me feeling old and made me question a few things, a close friend let me down and made me once again wonder if investing in people is truly a good idea and a colleague reminded me that people can be such a bloody disappointment...

But to end this on a positive note, I have and still am witnessing extraordinary resilience in the face of hardship and human nature at its worse, I'll be seeing my parents in less than 2 weeks :) and I've finally decided to make my health/weight a priority, journey which I might be documenting on here to a certain extent.

I'll leave you with this flower power outfit, which makes me happy (probably due to the yellow tones haha) and fills me with positivity towards what I hope it to be the best month of this Summer! :)

Scampston Vintage Festival

Nearly a year ago, I attended the first ever Vintage Festival organised by Britain Does Vintage on the gorgeous grounds of Scampston Gardens and I absolutely fell in love with Vintage Festivals! :)

After waiting for a year, that time has come again and Britain Does Vintage is bringing the Vintage Festival back to Scampston Gardens on 7th and 8th of June with the promise that this time it is bigger and better! :)

In their own words, this is what you can expect:

'Set in the picturesque lakeside gardens of the regency Scampston Hall which is home to the award winning Walled Gardens, this event is set to be the perfect vintage festival!
Let us set the scene -  a fabulous Saturday evening (18:00 to 22:30) of live music, picnics and vintage cocktails, followed by (Sunday 11:00 to 17:30) a relaxed vintage garden party in the immaculate gardens, hundreds of stunning classic cars to admire, live music and afternoon tea on the terrace, as well as an array of the UK's best vintage stalls to discover. Not to forget children's entertainment to keep the kids happy while you transport yourself back in time!'

So excited to be a part of this again!!! This time I will be prepared, got my own vintage dress from the last vintage festival I attended in Scarborough last month, have the perfect shoes and my vintage bag just arrived in the post! :)

Have not had the best of weeks, having to cancel the fair after all the work, money and time invested in the items I had prepared for my stall... But never mind! It is what it is! :)

Weather hasn't helped either, with the rainiest of weeks we've had in ages but it did allow for another go at wearing my Topshop sheep coat so not that bad after all! :)

Quick post today, as I have so many things to get ready for my Crafts Fair on the 11th of May in Thornton Le Dale!!!

On with upcycling some furniture pieces using Annie Sloan chalk paint, which is something I got into recently and loving it! :)

Well, mostly anyway, as this magazine rack I'm on with painting in Annie Sloan Original damn nearly had me in tears of frustration!! :)

Mr. Fox ... Mulder

There is always a series that defines your youth, and there have been many of such series to speak of in my life, like Friends, Sex and The City, Beverly Hills 91210, Ally McBeal...

But if I were to pick one that defined my teenage years, it must be The X Files!!! :)

I could go on forever about The X Files, but I shall spare you this time and only mention the fact that it was because of this series I can understand and moderately speak French! :) Can you figure that one out?! haha

Anyway, as soon as I saw this Mr. Fox dress on Asos, I knew exactly what the title of this post would be! :)

Summer, can Tartan come along?! :)

Even though Summer is around the corner and I couldn't be more excited about all the amazing outfits I'll be putting together :), I'm still finding it hard to let go of tartan and Winter berry! :)

Happy Easter!!!

I am happy to report North Yorkshire is basking in the sunlight this Easter Holiday so spirits are high! :)

I don't know about you, but there's something about the sun that makes me think I have super powers :) and my mind just opens up to all sorts of new possibilities that all seem within my reach! :) I just love this feeling! :) 

And since it's Easter what better outfit to portray this happy feeling inside than this amazing bunny dress from Vintage Style Me, made out of vintage fabric sourced by the lovely owner, Rhiannon Alexander.

The Duck Whisperer :)

One of my favourite things to do when the weather warms up is to go to Thornton le Dale for a wonder around their quirky little shops, have a panini and an ice cream and feed their lovely ducks! :)

This time, the weather wasn't as friendly as I hope it to be but that gave a chance to rock some wintry florals and my amazing new Embroidery Detail Cardigan from The Whitepepper.

I could not love this cardy more if I tried, proof can be found in my inability to resist having it in cream as well! :) It is oversized in the true sense of the word :), long and comfy and the embroidery detail is exquisite! I have no doubt it will become my go to cardy no matter the season! Oh and it is now on sale!!!! :)

It has been a busy March (a little post documenting some of the main events coming soon :)), and I have a feeling April will not take a back seat either! :)

Not complaining, I just wish I had more time for my blog, but I shall manage my time a lot better from now on.

Now, going through my posts so far, it's pretty clear to see I have a huge soft spot (pun intended :)) for The Whitepepper, which is why today's post features another one of their amazing creations! :)

March is here, Spring is in the air and it's time to take a minute and revise goals and ambitions for 2014!

Embroidered Magic and all things Furry :)

With only a few weeks to go until Spring, almost all the beautiful SS14 collections are now available to buy and my cards sure know all about it! :)

I'm lucky enough to be starting my Spring/Summer 2014 a little earlier, as I'm away in Egypt for a week in March so summery outfits are already taking shape, all to be packed up for a ride out of UK.

Meanwhile, with Winter still holding it's ground here, I've chosen another Winter Whites outfit for today's post.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

So V Day's finally here and I hope everybody is having a fantastic time celebrating the love in their lives! :)

The dress I picked for a date night on V Day is this amazing little number from Asos , that I had to have as soon as Alexa Chung stepped out in her Valentino embroidered dress! :)

It is exquisite in its embroidered details and the shape is extremely flattering with its shirt inspired top tightened on the high waist and wide shirt.

I love it to bits and I know I'll be wearing it a lot with no fear of it wearing out any time soon, which is such a relief as it is so disappointing when you have to let a dress go after a few washes!

All The Single Ladies

Not all of us are in a relationship this Valentine's Day, which is why my second V Day post is all about the fun outfit I would wear while celebrating this day with all my single girlfriends! :)

Nothing better than to be out and about with your ladies, celebrating the fact that 'actually... love is really all around'! :)

With Valentine's day only 10 days away, I thought I'd do 3 posts with 3 different outfits for 3 different ways of celebrating this lovely day! :)

First one is a day outfit, a relaxed look in case hubby and I decide to have a walk on Scarborough beach for some fish and chips and a serving of cotton candy! :)

Gingham Forever

So, last day of January is here, winter's still no where to be found and instead of the nice mild weather we've been having so far, rain seems to have taken permanent residence!

Aside from that and the fact that I'm working all weekend :( , these next few months are looking pretty promising with Egypt only 5 weeks away now (eeeek :)), a week at my parents, London city break and a few pampering stays at the amazing 5 star York Cedar Court in planning! :)

Really looking forward to putting January behind and concentrating on the wonderful things to come!

One of the things that get me squealing with excitement is SS14 and the fab pieces popping up in lookbooks from every high street brand and the uniquely wonderful independent labels!

I'll be talking more about that in my next few pots, but today I would like to concentrate on one of the best trends of SS14 - gingham!!! :)

Winter, where are you?!

With only 12 days left of January and the weather as nice as ever apart from a few showers here and there, I must say I am worryingly wondering where Winter is...

But I guess when in Rome.... :) which is why, even though I am bringing out my coat collection, short sleeves are still a go! :)

This pretty little tartan smock dress is one I have coveted from the moment it's been brought out, and Christmas was the perfect occasion to demand it! :)

Resolutions for an Amazing 2014

Happy New Year!!! :)

I trust everybody has had a magical Christmas and are now more than ready to take on the new year!

I loved reading through all sorts of Christmas and New Year posts from my favourite bloggers and I thought sharing my resolutions with you would be a sure way to keep track of my progress through 2014!

Even though this post is about 2014 and all my crazy plans :), I have attached some pictures from Christmas with some of my favourite presents ever! :)

I am wearing a lovely fluffy jumper, with red hearts, as the color red was as close as I could get to a Christmas jumper (maybe I'll finally give in this year, who knows! :)). I have bought this amazingly cosy jumper from one of our fabulous local shops, Smash.

The cute little deer necklace came from another lovely local shop, Plum. It is made out of ceramic and comes from the talented peeps behind And Mary.
